Beauty from Ashes During Covid-19

Family, Friends, fans and supporters,

We have been experiencing tough times and will continue to do so in the days ahead. My heart is with the families and friends that have fallen ill or have lost loved ones.

The world has seemed to unravel the last few weeks as Covid-19 has been relentless, taking countless lives without regard for race, gender, class, or party lines across Europe and the US, now the centers of the pandemic. People the world over are angry, afraid, uncertain and without confidence in their leaders. We are living in a time where toilet paper is worth more than the dollar; where store shelves are empty; where gun sales have skyrocketed as people prepare to defend their supplies and safety. No one has been untouched. The disruptions to our lives are far reaching and will be long-lasting, certainly.

But amidst the distress and dark sentiments, there have emerged stories of amazing courage and selflessness; images of beauty and solidarity; and a sense of compassion and community. Even in the face of the Coronavirus threat, we must remain strong together and look to better days ahead. And while it will be painful, this too shall pass.
